The Riau Islands are a province of Indonesia which are found between Borneo, Sumatra and Malaysia in one of the world's busiest shipping lanes. They comprise of over 1,700 islands, spread over hundreds of kilometres. The region is known for its great diving and there are plenty of dive centres to choose from.
